Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 1, 2026

The short version. Hifz Quran collects nothing. There are no accounts, no analytics, no ads, and no servers of ours. Your progress stays on your iPhone and we never see it. The app asks for no permission until you turn on a feature that needs one, and each one is optional: location for prayer times and the qibla, notifications for prayer alerts, and alarms for a prayer that should wake you. Under Apple's definitions this app is "Data Not Collected."

This policy explains what Hifz Quran ("the app", "we", "us") does with your information. Hifz Quran is made by Farhan Hossain. If anything here is unclear, email contact@bluetomatostudio.com.

What changed in this version. The app now has prayer times, prayer alerts and alarms, and the three optional permissions that come with them are described below. The app still has no microphone access and no speech recognition, still has no accounts, and still keeps everything on your phone.

1. Who this applies to

This policy covers the Hifz Quran app for iPhone, its widgets, and this website, hifzquran.org.

2. Information we collect

Personal information we collect: none. Hifz Quran has no login, no user accounts, and no backend of ours that stores your data. We do not run analytics, advertising, crash reporting, or any tracking, and the app contains no third-party SDKs.

The app creates and stores the following on your device so it can work:

This data stays in the app's private storage on your iPhone. Deleting the app removes it.

3. Permissions, all optional

Hifz Quran never asks for a permission when it opens. It asks only when you turn on a feature that needs one, and every feature has a way to work if you say no.

The app does not use, and cannot use, the microphone, speech recognition, the camera, photos, contacts or calendars. Your recitation is never heard, recorded, transcribed or stored, by us or by anyone else.

The app does declare iOS's background audio mode. That is ordinary playback, so a repeat drill keeps playing with your screen locked. It carries no access to anything on your phone.

4. Where your progress is kept

Everything the app stores stays on your iPhone, in the app's own private storage. Hifz Quran does not sync, does not use iCloud, and does not copy your progress anywhere. There is no account attached to it and nothing for us to look at. Deleting the app deletes it, so use your iPhone's own device backup if you want to keep it when you change phones.

5. Network access

The Quran text, the mushaf pages, the fonts, the translations, the word meanings, the tafsir, the duas, the city list and the adhan recordings are all inside the app and need no network. The app uses the internet for two things:

Nothing else. Prayer times, the Hijri date and the qibla direction are calculated on the phone.

6. No advertising, analytics, or tracking

Hifz Quran contains no third-party advertising, analytics, or tracking software of any kind. We do not build a profile of you and do not track you across other apps or websites. Under Apple's definitions, Hifz Quran is "Data Not Collected," and the App Store privacy label says exactly that.

7. Purchases

Hifz Quran is free and has no in-app purchases. If we ever added a paid feature, any purchase would be handled entirely by Apple through the App Store, and we would never see your card or billing details.

8. This website

This site is a simple set of static pages. It uses no advertising or tracking cookies and does not ask you to sign in. Our hosting provider may keep basic, non-identifying server logs (such as the type of request and a truncated address) to keep the site running and secure. If you email us, we keep your message so we can reply.

9. Children

Hifz Quran is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children. Because the app has no accounts and collects no personal data, there is nothing for a child to submit to us. If you have a concern, email us and we will help.

10. Your choices and rights

Because your data lives on your device, you are in control of it. You can clear the cached audio from Settings, and turn any alert, alarm or location use off again. Deleting the app removes its data from your phone. Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws like the GDPR or CCPA to access or delete personal data. Since we do not hold your data, most of this is already in your hands; for anything you send us by email, contact us and we will honor your request.

11. Security

Your data is stored in the app's protected storage on your iPhone and is covered by your device's own security, such as your passcode and encryption. No method of storage is perfect, but because nothing about you travels to our servers, there is very little for anyone else to reach.

12. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top and post the new version here. Meaningful changes will be noted on this page.
